Jan. 2, 2005 – The penetrating sounds of Batch and the Zioniers will headline the entertainment lineup at "Fergusville" on Tuesday evening. The group was recently added to the Caribbean night line-up for the 2005-2006 Crucian Christmas Festival village happenings.
Batch and the Zioniers are well known locally, nationally and internationally to conscious reggae fans everywhere. Natives of St. Croix, the group has performed in, among other places, Massachusetts, California, North Carolina and Tijuana, Mexico. Along with other internationally known conscious reggae bands like Midnite, Bambu Station and Ras Attitude, their strong message and crucial rhythm have propelled the Virgin Islands, and especial St. Croix, as the leader in that genre of modern music.
Batch and the Zioniers will take to the stage in Fergusville at 9 p.m. At 11 p.m. the Word Famous X-Press band will rock the crowd with their signature brand of calypso music and soul stirring ballads. Wrapping up the show will be the WCK band from Dominica beginning at 1 a.m. until 4 a.m. D.J. Porter will be on the wheels of steel.
Wednesday's program will feature the festival costumes of the King and Queen of the Band and the Hart-A-Tack Band, both scheduled to begin at 8 p.m. Later in the evening, beginning at 11 p.m. it's the Digital Band. The D.J. for the evening is D.J. Porter.
