March 1, 2006 — St. John resident producer Steve Simon presents the 4th Annual Coors Light St. John Blues Festival starring blues legend James Cotton and The James Cotton Blues Band.
Cotton headlines the festival's main show on Saturday evening March 25 at 8 p.m. at the Winston Wells Ball Field in Cruz Bay (just a two-minute walk from the Cruz Bay ferry dock). Also appearing that evening are Mark Wenner and The Nighthawks, and Chris Carsel & The St. John Blues Boys.
General Admission is $20 for adults and all children are admitted free. Food and beverages will be available all night long and a late-night ferry will leave Cruz Bay for Red Hook at 1 a.m. Blues festival attendees are encouraged to bring chairs and blankets, however, coolers are prohibited.
The wild, wonderful and wacky Jolly Dog Blues Lounge is back again this year and will be open all night long selling all the Blues Festival merchandise, including T-shirts, caps, posters, artists' CDs and the world-famous Blues Lounge Black-Light cocktail.
In addition to the big show on Saturday evening, Island Blues, Mongoose Junction's Courtyard, Shipwreck Landing, Skinny Legs and The Beach Bar have all been designated as Official Coors Light Blues Houses and will host a series of free live blues shows during festival week.
"We are dedicating this year's blues festival to the St. John School of the Arts in recognition of their amazing contributions to the children of St. John," stated Steve Simon, adding that "Each one of our blues events will also be a fund-raiser for the school."
For additional information, contact Steve Simon at 340-693-8120, e-mail him or go to the festival Web site.
