March 21, 2006 — In recognition of Women's History Month, the V.I. National Guard will honor its female soldiers deployed in the war on terrorism along with Ms. Betty Vidal of the Adopt-A-Soldier Program, which sends care packages to deployed V.I. soldiers.
This year's theme, "Women Builders of Communities and Dreams," honors women for bringing communities together in the face of impossible odds.
A Women's History Month observance will be held Thursday March 23 at 1:30 p.m. at the Lt. Col. Lionel A. Jackson Armory in Estate Bethlehem. Speaking will be Hon. Eileen R. Petersen, retired judge of the former Territorial Court.
