Transparency May Lead to Credibility

0

This article was as clear as mud concerning the difference between the requirements of the Sunshine Act and the now defeated "transparency" bill.
As a lifelong proponent of government in the sunshine, I am puzzled that any elected official should feel "insulted" by being required to make public the business of the public's elected officials.
Credibility is at stake here, and the VI government seems woefully lacking in that. Defeat of this bill doesn't seem to help. What's wrong with public accountability–that's what government in the sunshine is supposed to help accomplish, isn't it?
