June 6, 2006 – The Virgin Islands Waste Management Authority advises St. Thomas residents that the mapping of sewer collection systems will be continuing. Work will be performed in the areas of Veteran's Drive between the Virgin Islands Legislature and the Superior Court of the Virgin Islands and along Beltjen Gade beginning at 9 p.m., on Thursday, June 1.
The contractors, Elipse Consultants of St. Thomas and Metals and Materials Engineers of Georgia, have been performing inspections and mapping of the sewer lines under the direction of VIWMA personnel.
Motorists are asked to use alternate routes during this time or to reduce vehicular speed while traversing the area and to adhere to the directives of the posted flagmen.
For more information, contact Alex Bruney, staff engineer at VIWMA, at 777-3073 ext. 207.
