Do the Job or We Will Fire You

Dear Source:
After yesterday's outburst on the Senate floor, and to some degree the comments by Russell and James, is there any question left as to why Serville's petition declared him "unfit and incompetent to hold office"? Yes, I was the sponsor of the petitions filed with the St. Croix Board of Elections, but remained in the background of the drive. I acted as a facilitator for those who were demanding action. But after Russell and his "cronies" filed the petition with the FCC (his political program on WSTX probably violates more FCC regulations than Free Speech could ever begin to dream of), and the "Frivolous Five" as some dubbed them continued to do everything possible (legal and illegal) to stop the drive, I became more active in the movement.
It is time for the voters of the U.S. Virgin Islands to wake up and realize that WE have the power to control what our elected officials do with OUR money. Remember the Boston Tea Party and St. Croix's own Fireburn. These were the beginnings of people taking back the power to control their own destinies. One of the founding fathers of the U.S. Declaration of Independence and Constitution/Bill of Rights, Thomas Jefferson, often said in letters to friends and colleagues that the only way to maintain a democracy is to have a "revolution" every twenty years. Well the voters of St. Croix have started a non-violent "revolution" for the 21st Century. The Recall Petition drive is just the first phase of that movement. It will continue to grow and survive as long as our power hungry elected officials continue to fail to listen to the people they are supposed to represent. WE are not the idiots nor uninformed masses they assume us to be. We DO know what should be done, and we want it done.
Either start to do the jobs we HIRED you to do, or resign, or we will fire you. Not just the five on the current recall, but ALL of you. Start showing us that you are truly representing the people–ALL of the people–of the U.S. Virgin Islands. There is no "my people" in the electorate. We are ALL "your people" whether we voted for you or not and you are paid to represent ALL of us.
