The Queen Louise Home for the Aged will receive an early Christmas gift from Scotiabank. Staff and management from the banking institution supplied the funds to re-upholster five wing chairs, three couches and four lounge chairs to give the social area of the home a facelift.
Director of Residential Services Ms. Ernie Pennyfeather welcomed the makeover of the area, especially since it was recently painted. “New furniture was on the top of my wish list for the residents and the transformation is amazing.” said Pennyfeather. The social space is used for leisure and therapeutic recreation, events and musical entertainment from churches and other organizations, and other social activity.
Andrew Kresch, marketing manager of Scotiabank, believes the renovation is a gift that will last for years. “Our senior citizens deserve to have a place where they can gather and entertain their family and other visitors. The staff of Scotiabank are happy to make life brighter and more comfortable for the residents.”
At the closing of an e-mail from Pennyfeather is a quote: Wisdom is knowing what to do next, Skill is knowing how to do it, and Virtue is doing it. She said “The staff and management of the Queen Louise Home and DHS Commissioner Christopher Finch greatly appreciate the contribution from Scotiabank.”
