Angel E. Matta Jr., also known as “La Garrita,” of Bassin Triangle died on Feb. 23, at his residence. He was 36 years old.
He is survived by his mother, Ofelia Carrasquillo; father, Angel E. Matta;
Grandmother, Leonor Gonzalez; daughters: Nishma L. Matta and Soryliz Matta; sons: Ezequiel E. Matta and Angel E. Matta III; stepdaughter, Odalys Jessers;
sisters: Medalina Matta and Erika M. Matta; nieces: Angela M. Matta, Marienelis M. Rivera, Areangeli Benitez and Ezeily Rucci; and nephews: Edgardo Medina, Kevin M. Davila, Ricardo Rivera Jr. and Jaseht Rucci. He is also survived by aunts: Elba I. Romero, Luz D. Carrasquillo and Ruth Hernandez; uncles: Orlando Matta and Ricardo Carrasquillo; godparents: Ricardo and Antonia Bonano; brothers-in-law: Ricardo Rivera and Kevin Davila; special friends: Maria Figueroa, Mr. Hughe and Sally; close friends: Zoraida, Jose Cruz, Angel Navarro, Domingo, El Cabo and Renzo; immediate cousins: Julio Estrada, Gustavo, Masika and Ama Bermudez, Alejandro, Lisandro, Patricia and Zuraima Torres, Vilma, Charlie and Frankie Vazquez, and Kelia E. Matta; as well as other friends and relatives too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, March 3, at the Kingshill Chapel. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
