Elijah Browne, also known as "Herzley,” of Cliffton Hill died on Feb. 21, at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital. He was 79 years old.
He is survived by his spouse, Kathleen "Peggy" Browne; daughters: MaryAnn Flemming and Cecelia Joseph; stepdaughters: Janice Martin and Bevon Simmons; sons: Robert, Curtis, Lloyd, David and Peter Browne; grandchildren: Coretta Perkins, Donica and Veeron Flemming, Magan and Jeremy Simmonds, Soshena Joseph, Cherisa, Shantel, Robin and Jaylen Browne, George Flemming Jr., Floyd and Michael Flemming, Dashawna, Kennosha and Curaci Browne, and Kareem Browne; and 10 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by sisters: Rosemarie Williams, Idona Carter and Shelia Dyer; brothers: Wesley, Meanwell, Stafford, Roy and Dalmar Browne; mother-ln-law, Rachael Thomas; sons-in-law: George Flemming and Devon Joseph; special niece, Janice Dyer; eight nieces; seven nephews; and sisters-in-law: Yvonne and Ann Browne. Other survivors include special friends: Franklin Richards, Judge Steele, Edris Phillip, Catherine Roberts, Mary David, James Percy Lawrence, Joseph J.J. Jacob, Eugene Browne, Lionel Christopher, Arthur Reynolds, Janet Mason and Catherin Morton; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. Special thanks go to Dr. Mannings, Dr. Lake, Dr. Lakram, the staff at Cardiovascular, the staff at Gov. Juan F. Luis Hospital medical floor; and thanks also go to all who called and stopped by to give support and words of comfort.
The family requests that mourners wear festive colors.
A viewing will be held at 10 a.m. and a funeral service at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 6, at the Original Pentecostal Church. Interment will follow at the Kingshill Cemetery.
