Leo Emanuel King, also known as "De Lion," of Kelly Boulevard Slippery Rock, Penn. died on Dec. 8. He was 20 years old.
He is survived by his mother, Shermaine Samuel-King; father, Eric King; grandparents: Inez C. Thomas and Roy King; sister, Loretta King; brother, Jareem Dowling; niece, Ava Cazaubon; aunts: Claire Samuel, Karen Samuel-Claxton and Rondelle Petersen; uncles: Dale and George King, Clifton, Charleston, Llewelyn, Leon and Romeo Samuel, and Robert Petersen; great aunts: Fabian Krieger, Esther Tutein, Luciada Robles, Kathleen Benjamin and Lou Isaac; and great uncles: Alfred and Vernon Canton.
He is also survived by godmothers: Eugenia Vialet Simmonds and Janice Maldonado; cousins and other relatives: Maurice Browne, Dale King, Sharon Williams, Melanie Matthews, Rachel Christopher, Keisha Byam-Simmonds, Chrystal and George Byam, Mitchell Walters, Raymond, Raemesha, Kobe and Wendell Claxton, Keosha Samuel-Barry, Cherlyn Lake-Evans, Amarilla Jenkins and family, and Lemuel Mussington and family; special friends: Dale Carrington, Austin Jackson, Basil Williams Jr., Steven Simmonds Jr., Dr. Marlon Williams and Amy Badorf; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
The family asks that attendees wear mourning colors with accents of orange.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 18, at the Lord God of Sabaoth Lutheran Church in Christiansted. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
