Lockhart Elementary Holds Black History Month Program

The Lockhart Elementary School will present “From Africa to the Virgin Islands: Telling Our Story Again in 2011” as part of its annual Black History Month program at 6 p.m.on Thursday, Feb. 24.
Principal Carla Sarauw said, “This year’s program will consist of a number of performances by our students, teachers and other community members, and will include an array of poems, songs, drumming, storytelling, musical performances and much more.”
As part of the celebration, the administration, faculty and students will honor Leba Olaniyi and Glen “Kwabena” Davis for their commitment to the preservation of the territory’s history and culture.
There will be light food and local drinks on sale. Admission is $5.
