St. Croix District Public School Registration to Begin

Public School Registration for the 2011-2012 school year is slated to begin soon in the St. Croix District, according to a press release from Insular Superintendent of Schools Gary Molloy. Parents seeking to have their children enrolled in public schools for the upcoming school year can do so at the Office of Pupil Personnel Services in Estate La Grande Princesse at the Theodora Dunbavin Complex. The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 3 pm. on Mondays through Fridays.Registration is scheduled as follows: Kindergarten, March 1 through June 3, and Upper grades, May 23 through June 17.
Parents and guardians are reminded that the child or children to be registered must be present at registration. Students entering the Kindergarten must have been five years of age on or before Dec. 31, 2006.
Documents required for registration are:
1. Original birth certificate
2. Passport (foreign or American) or resident card or Naturalization Certificate
3. V.I. Immunization card with accompanying Health Clearance from the Charles Harwood Clinic
  1. Social Security card
  2. Proof of Physical Address -Official document showing name and street address (e.g., driver’s license, WAPA bill)
  3. Power of Attorney or Court Appointed Guardianship (if student does not reside with parent)
  4. Final report card from former school must be presented for students entering grads 1- 9
8. Official transcript from former school must be presented for high school students in grades 9-12.
9. Individual Education Plan (IEP) and evaluation data, if applicable.
Note:All documents must be available at registration time in order to process. Parents and guardians are further advised that students will not be registered without the presentation of a V.I. Immunization card with the attached (blue) clearance form issued at the Immunization Clinic at the Charles Harwood Memorial Hospital. ImmunizationClearance forms are a mandatory requirement of the registration process, and no exceptions will be made.
