WAPA Resuming Customer Service Operations in Temporary Location

0
While the V.I. Fire Service continues its investigation into what caused the fire which extensively damaged its St. Thomas office building, the Virgin Islands Water and Power Authority has set up a temporary location to serve customers in an adjacent trailer in Sub Base. Cashier windows will be open and customer service representatives available to assist customers from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Mondays through Fridays; however, customers are still encouraged to make payments at the bank by mail, or at www.viwapa.vi, when possible in order to avoid long lines and limited parking, according to a press release issued Wednesday by WAPA.
Employee meetings are scheduled for 10 a.m. tomorrow to update workers who have been displaced from their workstations because of the fire. They are asked to assemble at the tennis courts next to the office building and to bring a small bucket and cloths to clean personal items that may have been located on desks or shelves while furniture is being moved to other locations. Directors and managers should report one hour earlier at 9 a.m. for an operations meeting. Meter readers should continue to report as originally scheduled.
WAPA will publish updates as information becomes available. Customers needing more information can call 774-3552 or 774-1424.
