Pistarckle Theater Presents “Cabaret”

0

Pistarckle Theater starts its new season off with a bang with the season opener “Cabaret.” It’s 1931 in Germany; the Weimar Republic is crumbling; Nazism is on the rise; anti-Semitism is growing; a raw sexuality is pervasive everywhere, but inside the cabaret all one’s troubles are forgotten and everyone is beautiful, even the band is beautiful. Inside the Kit Kat Klub — where its master of ceremonies hosts the evenings events and Sally Bowles, an English performer is caught up in a whirlwind of romance and intrigue with an expatriated American writer as they navigate through very dangerous times when sons betray fathers and lovers live for the moment. The musical is performed with a live band of some of the best musicians on island.
Come out and support the arts at Pistarckle Theater, a fundamental part of the art community for over 20 years. The production also needs a volunteer to operate the light board. To volunteer or to purchase tickets, contact Pistarckle at 775-7877 or online at www.pistarckletheater.com.
Performances will be held at 8 p.m. on Oct. 13, 19, 20, 25, 26 and 27. A preview will be held at 8 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 11. This will be a “Pay As You Can Night” and Chamber of Commerce/Arts Alive Business After Hours. Come early and meet the artists at Tillet Gardens. Opening Night will be 8 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 12.
Pistarckle Theater is sponsored by the Virgin Islands Council of the Arts and Scotiabank
