Becerrel Armonda Edison, 36, died Tuesday evening when the motorcycle he was driving collided with an SUV, the V.I. Police Department reported.

About 6:15 p.m. Tuesday the driver of a Nissan Pathfinder was traveling south in Estate Glynn and making a right turn. At that time the vehicle and the motorcycle collided, police reported.

Dispatched to the scene by 911 operators, police found Edison unresponsive in the roadway. He was transported by ambulance to the Gov. Juan F. Luis Memorial Hospital for treatment. Several hours later, the hospital told police Edison had died of his injuries.

This case continues to be investigated by the Traffic Investigation Bureau.

The driver of the Pathfinder has not been identified, VIPD spokeswoman Melody Rames explained, because of the department’s policy that it does not name people who either did not die or have not been arrested.
