The Virgin Islands Triathlon Federation will host the Succotash Splash ‘n Drumstick Dash at 8 a.m. on Sunday, Nov. 25, at the Chenay Bay Resort on St. Croix. This swim/run event is open to kids of all abilities, ages 5 through 15. The distances of each leg of the race differ for each of the four age groups, which include ages 5-6, 7-8, 9-11 and 12-15. The swim will take place in a shallow, point-to-point course, and the run portion will stay within the grounds of the resort.
Registration will open at 7 a.m. and close at 7:45 a.m. The entry fee is $5. All checks must be made payable to Virgin Islands Triathlon Federation. There will be T-shirts and refreshments for all participants. Shoes and parents’ signatures are required. There will be awards given for the top finishers in each group.
Course Distances:
Beginner (5-6) Swim: 25 meters / Run: ¼ mile
Junior (7-8) Swim: 50 meters / Run: ¼ mile
Intermediate (9-11) Swim: 100 meters / Run: ½ mile
Senior (12-15) Swim: 200 meters / Run: 1 mile
