Evan Thomas Sr., also known as “Pastor Evan Thomas Sr.,” died at the age of 72 on St. Thomas.
He is survived by his former wife, Rosemarie Thomas; children: Catherine Thomas, Louisa Thomas-White and Evan Thomas Jr.; son-in-law, Clayton White; daughter-in-law, Millicent Thomas; nephew-in-law, Brian Emmanuel; grandchildren: Akeisha Payne, Jermaine Ervine, Moses Ervine, Chantel White, Jawann White Sr, Che’Resa White, Ethan Thomas, Sanaa Thomas; and great-grandchildren: Javerne and Jae’Quan Lake, Moshay, Shyhiem, Tremaine, Nasir, Dreshawn, De’Antay and Alayah Ervine, Jawann White Jr. Jamal and A’Niyah Blyden.
He is also survived by brothers: Almond Thomas and Benjamin Thomas (he is predeceased by his brother Eurell Thomas); sister, Naomi Thomas-Reid; nieces: Lucinda Olivari, Angela Emmanuel, Cassandra Jarvis, Valerie Henry, Maria Morrissey, Emelia Reid and Gloria Willock; nephews: Franklyn Smith, Evrod Reid and Jefferson Reid; special friends: Leona “Peggy” Moore, Phill and Betty Steen, Reginald Henry and family; many nieces and nephews, and great nieces and great nephews too numerous to mention. He is also survived by special caregivers and family: Kordell Robb, Wendell Auguiste, Dion Pemberton, Nigel Hamm, Jennifer Roden, Queen Louise Home doctors, nurses and staff, and the church family of United Brethren Church of God In Christ.
A first viewing will be held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, April 5, at Davis Funeral Home. A second viewing will be held at 8 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 9 a.m. on Saturday, April 6, at Church of God of Prophecy, C5 Estate Hoffman. Interment will be at Eastern Cemetery.
