A St. Croix man was beaten and robbed Tuesday morning in the Kmart parking lot in Estate Cane, according to the V.I. Police Department.

Police said the victim was struck in his face by one of the suspects in the incident that took place at about 8:30 a.m.

Officers said the victim told them he was sitting under a tree eating his breakfast when a black four-door sedan dove up to him. Two men got out and said, “Give me what you got.” One of the suspects hit him in the head with a gun and searched his pockets.

The suspects took $100, the victim said. Then they got back into the vehicle and drove west. The victim said he did not know the make or model of the car and did not see the license plate number. He was not able to describe the suspects.

The case is being investigated by Criminal investigation Bureau detectives.
