Detectives from the V.I. Police Department’s Domestic Violence Unit have issued a wanted poster for the arrest of Carlton S. Walters, who has been charged with third-degree assault/domestic violence among other charges.

Detectives said that Walters, 22, was recently released from the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility where he was incarcerated on similar domestic violence charges stemming from an October incident with his former girlfriend. The victim filed a restraining order against Walters following that crime.

After his release from Golden Grove, detectives said Walters returned to the same woman’s’ home on Dec. 10 and entered her dwelling without permission, threatened her by pointing a weapon in her face and assaulted her.

Walters is also charged with third-degree-burglary, possession of a dangerous weapon, violating a restraining order and violating the terms of his probation.

Walters is 6 feet, 3 inches tall and weighs 275 pounds. He has a dark brown complexion, brown eyes and black hair worn in braids. He has tattoos on both forearms, including one on his left forearm which reads "Death Before Dishonor." He is known to frequent Estates Peters Rest and Clifton Hill.

He is considered armed and dangerous.

Police reminded the public that assisting or harboring a wanted suspect in any way can result in criminal prosecution. Anyone who has seen Walters or know his whereabouts can call the police department’s Domestic Violence Unit at 1-340-712-6026, the 911 emergency call center, or the anonymous tip service, Crime Stoppers VI, at 1-800-222-8477.
