Byam Lessington Roberts, also known as “Lass,” died on Jan. 29 at the Herbert Grigg Home for the Aged. He was 83 years old.
He is survived by his daughters: Ellenmay Joyce, Jacqueline Roberts, Valerie Roberts and Elda Greene; sons: Juno Roberts, Fitzgerald Roberts and Patmore Roberts; grandchildren: Denise, Jay, Jay-Jay, Junior, Hannis, Jelanie, Shekema, Dawn, Deliah, Amelia, Orden, Michelle, Chandra, Karen, Keith Jr., Keitha, Christopher, Amy, Avery, Allysia, Tamara, B.T., Jquan, Kenisha, Kenya and Kiana; 32 great-grandchildren; sisters: Vienna Peters and Luman Roberts; and brother, Frank Roberts.
He is also survived by nieces: Yvonne, Joycelyn, Grethlyn, Maudelyn, Ronnie, Jacquline, Joann, Olive and Cheryl; nephews: Bert, Keni, Wilden, Renson, Steve, Troy, Trevor, Ellie, Jonell, Stevenson, Charles, Willton, Clemente and Hayes; great nieces: Delta, Collet, Fostina, Francine, Cleota, Claudia and Kerrie; great nephews: Steve, Billy, Michael and Randy; daughters-in-law: Gloria Roberts, Nalda Mathais and Nicee Roberts; son-in-law, Padget Greene; special friend, Logan Joseph; as well as other relatives and friends too numerous to mention.
A viewing will take place at 9 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 11, at St. John’s Episcopal Church. Interment will be at Kingshill Cemetery.
