The V.I. Police Department picked up Sharif Matthew on Tuesday morning, after the teen had been missing since March 13.

Detectives from the Juvenile Unit said the 16-year-old failed to appear at a court hearing and had not been seen by his mother.

Members of Matthew’s family told detectives he was reluctant to go to his court appearance and then left the residence.

While the Juvenile Unit had said Matthew frequents the Mon Bijou, Frangi Pangi and Harbor View apartments, there was no indication Tuesday where the boy was found.
