A third suspect in the Feb. 2 shooting death of Wellington Pennyfeather Jr. in Frederiksted was returned from Florida to the U.S. Virgin Islands on Friday by the V.I. Police Department.

According to police, Angel Luis Ilarraza – also known as “Green Eyes,” Luisito Ilarraza and Angel Almestica – was escorted from Florida by two VIPD Major Crime Unit detectives and landed at the Henry E. Rohlsen Airport. He had been captured by Florida police.

Ilarraza will face charges of first-degree murder, first-degree assault, third-degree assault third, first-degree robbery, unauthorized possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, failure to report firearms obtained outside or brought into the Virgin Islands, possession of ammunition, first-degree reckless endangerment and unauthorized possession of a firearm within 1,000 feet of a school zone.

Pennyfeather was found shot to death in the streets of Frederiksted in the early evening of Feb. 2. Police said they believed an altercation took place at the market, and when Pennyfeather ran from the area, shots where discharged and he fell injured in the street.

Two other suspects had previously been arrested in connection with the murder. Angel Luis Ilarraza’s cousin, 23-year-old Juan Ilarraza – also known as "Jaunky" – was extradited from Florida on March 27 in connection to the crime. Another suspect, 19-year-old Ronald E. Bogan – also known as Indu – was extradited from Puerto Rico on March 6 and also charged with the murder.

On Friday, Angel Ilarraza was held without bail and remanded to the Golden Grove Adult Correctional Facility pending further court action.

Detectives said this case is still under active investigation, and the VIPD said it appreciates the continued support from the community.
