St. Thomas Child Injured By Gunfire

Police on St. Thomas are investigating a non-fatal shooting that injured a 12-year-old boy in Bergs Home about 9:30 p.m. July 21. The victim was shot in his left lower leg while walking his dog.
Police said in a statement the victim was walking his dog with a neighbor near building no. 6 when he saw at least one person running and then heard shots. The wounded child ran into the archway of the building and realized that he was shot in his leg, according to police. He was taken to the Schneider Regional Medical Center by a private vehicle where he was treated and released.
