It is with deep sadness we mourn the loss of Monaley Magretta Turner-Phipps also known as “Miss Maggy,” who went home to rest on her Master’s bosom on June 3. She was originally from Parham Town, Antigua, but last resided on St. Croix. She was 57 years old.
She leaves behind her beloved husband, Conrad R. Phipps, also known as “Chubby;” her sons: Adonis, Conrad Jr. also known as “C.J.;” Curtis, also known as “Q.T.;” Cornell and Casim; grandchildren: Adriana, Cornell Jr., and Conrad II; mother, Alice Christopher Walker, also known as “Pussy;” sisters: Rita and family, Erin and family, Albertine and family, Casilla and family, Lynette and family, Andulcia and family, Norma and family, Celeste Penelope and family, and Jackie and family; brothers: Rochester and family, Ickford, also known as “Jabo,” and family, Livingston and family, Nehemiah, also known as “Teba,” and family; sisters-in-law: Doris Phipps and family, Naomi Wigley and family and Evelyn Wigley, also known as “Babsi,” and family; daughters-in-law: Annette Mc Coy, Natalia Diaz and Judy Duke; and aunt, Molly Tittle.
She is also survived by her dear friends: Helenita Scotland and family, Beatrice Coggins and family, Laurie Soto and family, Joslyn Williams and family, Samuel Ottley and family, the Chapman, Solomon, and Pelle families, and Aneta, Marily and Esington Viera on St. Thomas. Also left to mourn is her church family, Ebenezer Holiness Church; the Junior Ranch Cadets, teachers and administrators of Manor School, and other friends and family too numerous to mention.
There will be a viewing held at 11 a.m. and a funeral services at noon on Saturday, June 18, at the Beeston Hill Wesleyan Holiness Church. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
