Felicidad Nieves, also known as "Felisa" of Estate St. John died on Oct. 29 at her residence. She was 86 years old.
She is survived by her sons: Pablo Nieves Jr., Ramón Nieves, Reuben Nieves, Roberto Nieves, Alberto Nieves and Miguel Angel Nieves; daughter, Carmen Lydia Nieves-Cotto; grandchildren: Nyx Z. Nieves, Carol Cruz, Pablo Nieves III, Rubiann Nieves, Cate Nieves, Joel Nieves, Miguel A. Cotto, Rubén Nieves, Claribel Cotto, Clarissa Cotto, Emanuel Cotto, Xavier Nieves, Daniel Nieves and Natalie Nieves.
She is also survived by great-grandchildren: Julian Joseph Jr. and Ja’heim Joseph, Miguel Cotto Jr., Leyla Isabella Cotto and Mia A. Cotto, Enrique Morales Jr., Miah Alessandra Nieves, Xavier O. Nieves, Solmarie Nieves, Alisia Nieves and Ameera Qattoum; sisters: Isabel Valázquez and Angelita Velázquez-Rios; brothers: Carmelo Velázquez-Torres, Isabelo Velázquez and Domingo Velázquez; sisters-in-law: Tomasita Nieves Perez and Paula Nieves Rosarrio; daughters-in-law: Ana M. Nieves, Maria R. Nieves, Nereida Nieves and Gladys Nieves; son-in-law, Miguel Cotto; and other relatives and friends too numerous to mention. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
There will be a viewing held at 9 a.m. and a funeral service at 10 a.m. on Thursday, Nov. 6, at Iglesia de Zion Hermanos Unidos En Cristo, Castle Coakley. Interment will follow at Kingshill Cemetery.
